Decoding the Street-Based Spatiality of Urban Gyms: Implications for Healthy City Planning

Many cities face health issues that result from ineffective urban planning strategies. The chances of doing exercises in sportive venues implicate public and citizen quality life. With the advent geo-big data era, it is crucial to explore spatial pattern sports facilities reflect issues. This study aims decode street-based spatiality gyms (one prevailing type venues) a comprehensive perspective by both geometric methods (i.e., segment streets) topological analytics context complexity science complex network derived topology natural streets). We found that: (1) are spatially clustered distributed unevenly; (2) community-to-gym walkability fits power-law with heavy-tailed distribution at 10-min 20-min temporal scales; (3) model for street connectivity multi-distance reachability high polynomial fitting goodness. article conducive strategies-making healthy city further optimization structure.
